Expressive Art Therapy

Traditional talk therapy asks a person to translate their inner world into sentences. But grief, fear, identity, and trauma often live somewhere pre-verbal — in the body, in image, in gesture. Expressive arts therapy meets clients there. Through movement, art-making, role-play, and symbolic expression, we access what's stuck beneath the surface and give it room to move, shift, and heal.

In my sessions, this might look like:

Using psychodrama to physically enact and reframe a difficult relationship or memory
Art-making as a way to externalize anxiety, anger, or grief that feels too big for words
Movement and embodiment exercises to reconnect clients with a body that trauma has made feel unsafe
Symbolic and narrative work — genograms, storytelling, ritual — to help clients understand where they come from and where they're headed. Over two decades of clinical work, I've spoken at the United Nations (CSW70), trained teachers and institutions in emotional intelligence and IEP support, and worked extensively with adolescents, young adults, and new mothers navigating life's hardest transitions.

I believe healing isn't a straight line — it's a rhythm. My work is about helping each client find theirs.
